About the Author

I’m an emerging writer in Australia who keeps creating characters that wouldn’t like me.

This blog was created with the intention to write about writing, but when that felt too meta I started writing about anything from world events to childhood to the darker side of life. I’ve combined all of this into a place of whatever.Β I hope it works okay. There’s a few surprises every now and then.

I often stop and think, “What the heck am I doing with my life?” But I can usually squash those feelings byΒ dawdling in a book shop until all my worries melt away. I’m working on becoming a proper person. Bear with me.

    1. Hi John! It’s weird, because I thought the exact same about you! I wonder what happened. Nice to see you again πŸ™‚

        1. Ah yes, I remember him. Luckily he took the hints and left and I no longer live near him! I moved cities.

    1. Thank you very much!
I came across yours through julieisrael just as I was changing my theme… to the same as yours. I thought it was a good coincidence and you write wonderfully so hit the follow button πŸ˜€

      1. Thank you very much for that kind words -:)! I have hit the follow button too -:)! Looking forward to your posts … the ones I managed to read are really great; vibrant and well-written -:)!

  1. I love your writing and I do indeed get lost in it in a similar way to the bookshop experience. The good thing is there are no children yelling “can we go NOW?” and the bad thing is I can easily lose an hour when I should be doing work.
(or perhaps that is a good thing?) If you write anywhere else, don’t forget to tell Old Aunt gentlestitches, I won’t stalk (who would have time?) but I would love to keep reading your writings. πŸ™‚

    1. Definitely πŸ™‚
I began a new one that currently only has 2 posts; I had the intention of making it a place for me as a writer since this blog has become something different, but I think instead I’m just going to pull this blog back onto what I originally intended since I have a readership here. It’s kind of hard to decide what to do actually. I’m too indecisive, I may as well keep it all here!

    1. My go-to recommendation, too. I can’t imagine someone being disappointed by it. Though, it being my favourite makes me a tad biased.

        1. Mine is so plane next to yours. I’ve been using images by inserting links, as opposed to updating the actual image. So I will correct it moving forward. I’m not going to worry about the posts that are already there…

  2. I’m sorry to hear you had a stalker. Some people just have to ruin everything. But keep going, your blog has very good writing πŸ™‚

  3. Oh no, cyber-stalking. Agh, that’s always the worst. I had to close down a couple of my older blogs because of that :S

By the way, would it be alright if I used this as a short description of your blog for my readers’ page (http://yourdailydoseblog.com/2012/10/11/a-page-dedicated-to-my-readers-your-blogs-please-help-me-finish-it-by-describing-your-blog-in-10-words-or-less/)?: “Updates from my writing world, anecdotes mixed with fiction, plus a few surprises.”

    Thanks! πŸ™‚

    1. Of course! I’d be quite honored πŸ™‚
      Thank you.
Hmm, some people don’t understand when they’re being inappropriate. We should all be fitted with a buzzer that beeps when we’re being cyber-stalkers.

  4. Sorry to hear about the stalker. I had one a couple of weeks back. Woe is me.
I cam over for a punt because you were kind enough to loke my post ‘How to stay warm.’ So if you’d like me to read more of what you post, and it’s entirely up to you, lemme know how to go about it.
    Thanks for the Like anyway.

    1. Oh I should probably remove that, it sounds so serious and I hate that. Besides, I think it’s all okay now πŸ™‚ Thank you for the kind word on it.
Haha it was funny, it reminded me of a friend I have who once spent the day in the city dressed as a gorilla taking pictures of her gorilla self doing human things.
I’ll be sure to have some more reads πŸ™‚
